S M Bhatt is Chairman of the Vidyanagar Chapter of CSI

Mr S M Bhatt, GM (IT) EITL was recently appointed Chairman of the Computer Society of India (CSI), Vallabh Vidyanagar Chapter. He will hold this position for the next two years. His responsibilities under this position will be to
promote IT related activities including lectures, seminars, competitions at the State and National level. This basically encompasses furthering the cause of advanced technology in the Information Technology field.

The Computer Society of India is the largest association of IT professionals in India. Started in the year 1965 it has grown from 50 to a size of 18000 members in a span of about three decades.

The purposes of the society are scientific and educational, directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science, computer engineering and technology, systems science and engineering, information processing and related arts and sciences.

The objective is to:

  1. Promote interchange of information, in these disciplines and subdisciplines, amongst the specialists and between specialists and the public:
  2. Encourage and assist the professionals engaged in these fields to maintain the integrity and competence of the profession; and
  3. foster a sense of partnership amongst the professionals engaged in these fields.

Means to these ends are holding of meetings for the reading and discussing of professional papers, the publications and circulation of works of literature, science and art pertaining thereto and any other activities necessary; suitable and proper for the fullfilment of these objectives.

CADD Center under the auspices of EITL.

EITL is launching a CADD Centre in Vallabh Vidyanagar. The Institute will be mainly offering industry specific courses like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural CADD; GIS (Geographic Information System); Project planning and management and Colorgrafx and Multimedia. The courses are designed to provide a good volume of knowledge and a high degree of skill.

ELECON expands its international operations
 
Elecon Australia Pty. Ltd.

Elecon Australia Pty. Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of Elecon is registered and has been operational since March 2002 in Australia. The company is headed by Mr. Terry Hall and will manage Elecon operations in Australia and New Zealand. Mr. P. Dasgupta will represent Elecon India.

Elecon South Africa

Elecon is planning to form a 100% subsidiary company in south Africa shortly. This company will be headed by Mr. Graeme Ramsay and will manage Elecon operations in the African continent. Mr Jayesh Shah will represent Elecon India.

"VIDYOG 2002" Industrial Exhibition
 

The Elecon group of companies actively participated in a 5 day Industrial Exhibition, VIDYOG 2002, held at Vallabh Vidyanagar. The MHE, Gear, Ringspann, PBEGL and EITL Divisions put up splendid displays of their product range. The exhibition was visited by over 1 lakh people. Some government organizations and other businesses from places outside Vidyanagar also participated in the exhibition.

 

The highlight of the event was the trophy that the Elecon Group of companies received for the Best Overall Display. Additionally the Elecon and EITL stalls received individual awards for best display in the large Industrial Sector and the IT sector categories. All in all it was a great experience for everyone who was involved and for the company in terms of accessibility to the customers.


 
"Rolling Out" ceremony of Eimco's COAL HAULER
 

The ceremony was held on the 19th of Jan 2002. The Coal Hauler is a new product developed by Eimco Elecon. It is the first of its kind in the Underground Coal Mining Industry. It works with the Road Header Model AM-50 - a product from Eimco's collaborators Voest Alpine, Austria. The Coal Hauler will be used to transport coal to tubs/belt conveyors. Eimco's customers are the Southeastern Coalfields Ltd who will be the first to use Eimco's Coal Hauler.
 

The rolling out ceremony was held at Eimco's factory premises in the presence of Shri B I Patel and Shri Prayasvinbhai Patel the CMD and the MD respectively of the Elecon group of companies.

 

Elecon Information Technology Limited - Elecon's new IT division
 

As is the tradition at Elecon, Dussera was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm. Prizes to winners of various cultural and sports events were given out. The festival was especially marked by the opening of Elecon's new IT division.

IMME – 2001
 

Eimco Elecon recently participated in the 6th International Mining & Machinery exhibition from 6th to 9th November, 2001 at the TAI Ground (Kolkata Maidan), Kolkata. The display of products included products from overseas collaborators. Eimco Elecon jointly displayed products with BELAZ from the Republic of Byelarus.

Business visitors from all over the country as well as abroad visited the stall including important dignitaries like Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan – Minister of Coal & Mines, Government of India, Mr. Mulubhai Bera – Minister of State for Mines & Minerals, Gujarat, Mr. PrasadMinister of State for Mines & Mineral, West Bengal, Mr. Ajit Jogi – Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh.
