The Seventh I B Patel Cricket Cup Tournament, affiliated with the Anand District Cricket Association, sponsored by Elecon Engineering Company Limited was inaugurated on 7th March 2003 at the cricket ground of ADIT college, New Vallabh Vidyanagar. The event was inaugurated by Mr A V Shah, ED of EMTICI and Mr C T Dave, ED of Eimco Elecon. The occasion was also graced by Shri Basal, the Principal of ADIT college.

14 teams participated in the event from Anand and Kheda districts. The finals were held in April 2003.

Elecon's Interdivisional Cricket Tournament, which stretched into several months, finally came to an end on 15th April, 2002. The Winners were EMTICI who played a tough game, eventually coming up champions. Congratulations to the EMTICI team and to Tarak Kapadia their captain, for leading his players in such good form!

The runners up were MHE who also worked hard and managed the second place. Better luck next time to all teams who bore the scorching heat and gave it their best!

An additional highlight of the month was a friendly match involving Elecon's South African representatives including Mr Graeme Ramsay, who heads Elecon's South Africa Office.
