 Elecon
has developed a special purpose custom built gear box type SBN 350/830S/SO
for Pay-Off Reel application.
The longer output shaft of the gear box holds the coil
of plate and gets unwound before passing through the sheet making Mill.
The gear box basically designed with double stage reduction
so as transmit the power from 0-225-225 KW at 0-380-1150 rpm D.C.Motor
with reduction ratio of 7.188/1.
Teeth of pinion and wheels are of double helical type
so as to nullify the axial thrust acting on respective shaft. The gears
are made from high tensile carburizing alloy steel, 17CrNimo6 as per
DIN 17210 case hardened to 60 ± 2 HRC and precisely ground to
class of accuracy 6 as per DIN 3961-63. The Output wheel is of fabricated
construction of which rim is made up of 20 MnCr5 material
and Hun/rib out of cast steel Gr 27/54 and Fe410 WA IS 2062 respectively.
The shafts are supported in Anti-friction Spherical
Roller Bearings of adequate size to take care of radial loads permitting
large degree of freedom against misalignment.
The gear box is installed with centralized lub oil
system for providing necessary amount of oil to various gear meshes
and bearings thereby resulting into smooth and trouble free operation.
