has developed special purpose custom built Roll Stand of size MW 355
J for hot sizing of seamless tubes and can develop in various sizes
as per client’s requirement.
The toothed coupling, on left top, receives power and
drives three rolls through trio of spiral bevel gears meshing to each
other.
Tooth profile of spiral bevel gears is cyclopalloid,
gears are made from high tensile steel EN-40B as per BS:970 accurately
generated and nitrided.
The shafts are at 120 ° to each other and supported
in antifiction roller bearings of adequate size to take care of radial
and axial loads permitting large degree of freedom against misalignment.
The rollers out of cast steel are proof machined before
assembly and are finish machined on special purpose boring machine for
given size of out side dia of tube when rollers are also rotated around
their axes.
The Roll Stand gears bearings are grease lubricated
resulting smooth and trouble free operation.
